Excellent details Painless, I am following along impressed as ever.
It is difficult I think to do a great deal with the gun breach simply because, of course, it is actually functional (and the servos, etc, have to be accommodated). The elevation lock is very good indeed, as is all the detailing. The gun sight looks amazing, even without painting - is this the wolverine M10 one on Shipways (it's the only one I could find)? I'm a way off tackling the turret on mine but what I have been trying to get to grips with is the floor panel layout, I have looked at various pictures but they seem to differ - I was thinking perhaps that is because of the internal variations between the M4 and M10 hulls (or it just me getting confused, which happens a lot )?

You are not confused at all, sir. There is a lot of difference between the turret for the M10 and the M36 and its variants. The Shapeways gun sight is the M10 one and it is ( fortunately) similar enough for me to do a base to raise it up some and be satisfied with it. Since I am not cutting up the turret floor to provide a drop down semi-basket, that's one headache I avoided. I'm looking to see what you do with yours, Doc. Thanks for looking in. For a RTR vehicle, adding an open turret certainly adds to the possible complexity.

Thank you, Eddy, you and me both! ;o) Nothing M36B1 related in the mail today + I'm a little under the weather so the work done was limited to a turret lock and a couple of round stools to dress up the inside a little. I am still waiting for some of my interior detail bits but am almost at the point where I can primer and paint the inside of the turret, Detail painting to follow. Pics:

What is this KV-2, one of those comic tanks you acquired previously?
Edit: Ah , I see , its from AFV club. And these don't need glue?

Good morning, Doc Soeren,
That first one needs cement ( and I know I'm dating myself by calling it that * chuckles* ) This KV version has several sprues of parts. I'll have to see if they really snap together or will need to be permanently set. They both look interesting and were recommended to me by Sassgrunt and Alpha as something fun to do between big builds. The KV-2 has wheels in a gearbox underneath and the tracks are a single molded piece that road wheels and running gear get attached to. Toon tanks! There is, somewhere in the threads, a cartoon tank made up from parts of a Sherman and a truck. It's from a cartoon way back in the day. I cannot remember who did it but I remember that they RC'd it pretty neatly.

Mornin' Herman,
They are related to an Online game called 'World War Toons' and seem to be fairly new. I'd never looked at Toon type tanks before and have Mr. Alpha and Sass to thank for expanding my view of the Hobby. The packaging and presentation are clean and high-dollar to be sure. The kits themselves come with nice, illustrative instructions on gloss stock and the parts are flash free so the molds are likely brand new as well. It's definitely a niche product aimed at younger folks. I'm welcome to the idea of anything that adds interest to our shared Hobby.
