Mr Painless your attention to detail is super. Ive never ordered from shapeways before and just saw your package said Long Island City New York. That's about an hour from my house! I may have to buy some items from them since shipping will be fast and cheap. How did you go about finding what you needed? Just so I know how to approach the website. Keep up the great work

Thank you for the encouragement. ;o) The easiest way to shop in Shapeways is to pick a main topic like 'vehicles' and drill down to scale such as 1/16 and then go to WWII or tank. That will usually get you get you close enough to where you want to go that you can use their search bar from there.

Quiet Sunday and aside from catching up to what the weather scuppered yesterday, I had an hour to myself to stand up and work on the M36B1. I wanted to continue inside the turret so I did a quick paper pattern and used an Exacto to cut out two large and one fitment piece of the Plastruct diamond plate. This stuff is great! A simple scoring cut with the Exacto and it breaks clean along the line. It is 1/16 scale already so not overly thick either. The pieces were a drop in and secured with the Loc-Tite Ultragel I favor using. After that, I did a weld bead along the edges using the tubed milliput I got from over there. More tomorrow. Pics:

Mr Painless I've seen that exact diamond plate pattern in my local hobby shop. I was going to pick some up when I purchased some styrene sheets and was not sure how it would look so I didn't grab it now that I see it in action it looks excellent so I will add it to my list

Carl, I think that you will be pleased with the diamond plate. It's much easier to work with than the brass type. Lots of rain tonight so a good time to go back to the M36B1. I'm still working on the turret interior and it will take some time. I'm waiting on pieces to arrive and will have to build up some mounts and equipment from scratch to even finish my truncated version of the interior. Tonight, I did a little painting just to start getting used to the idea of what will be required on this TD. Pics:

Carl, thank you, sir! Your own excellent work inspires me to be a better modeler. Herman, truer words were neer' spoken my Friend. It was cool to see the difference between the main gun in the M10 ( which I will have to do as well ) and the gun in the M36 type turret. Tom, you are the gold standard in this sort of thing. I have a spare turret for the M36 and considered trying to cut out the floor of one and make a short, partial basket of the type that the M36B1 used to add a little auth. but all the wires in the lower and the brittle metal that MATO used made me back away from it. I will do the turret wall equipment and mounts and see what can be done with the elevation servo.
