The vast majority has gone together without any problem. For a more experienced modeller, there probably would not be so many difficulties. This a huge learning curve for me and by the time I get to the end, I know to tackle a similar project again would be much easier.

The Elmod board supports front lights, convoy light and rear and brake lights. I have got a pair of working headlights and have seen a working convoy light somewhere. I'm stuck with the rear/brake lights, so if anyone can point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. I should have some more photos over the weekend.

I've mainly been working on the tools and other add-ons, but here are a couple of photos. In the first, I've tried to give some indication of what the wheels look like when on full lock.

The second show the gunless turret in place.

When it's finally assembled, I think it will all be fixed together with more screws than a Heng Long tank, which is going to raise some interesting problems when it comes to charging the battery.

Hello Mr Surfer Looks as if you have made quite a bit of progress. You mentioned the Heng Long screw issue and I wonder for ease of maintenance and battery changes if you have considered the magnets setup or something like the panzer 38-t build where the upper hull superstructure and lower hull are connected together via friction between some locking plates. I know this is metal unlike my plastic hull but just an idea

Cheers

The hull top is plastic whilst the chassis assembly is metal. Part of the problem derives from the design of the original vehicle. Like a lot of modern AFVs, the under shell is V shaped possibly for blast deflection. This means that the mudguards effectively clamp the upper hull to the lower chassis. Even if I replaced the 4 screws that connect the top to the bottom, I would still have the 4 screws which attach the mudguards to the top and there are 4 more screws which fix the mudguards to the lower hull.

I will, however, give the matter some serious thought.

I've added a little detail to the turret in the form of some cabling for the smoke dischargers. It's not exactly Aber quality, but it looks OK so long as you don't get too close :D

I do my airbrushing outside and it really is too cold and windy, but I was determined to at least get a base coat on the whole vehicle. I also did not like the shiny black tyres, so they and the wheels have had a coat of AK Interactive dark dust wash.
