hi the 27mhz would be crystals thats the first place to start
the 2.4 may not be bound to the hand set try the binding you will see a black button in the base of the tank where the batt is

A flat battery will do that as well.

thanks guys I will try a different set of crystals in the 27mhz one but the 2.4 is the first heng long 2.4 set & I have put it into a kv1 that had a 27mhz crystal tx &rx18 that I swaped for the 2.4 heng long first version with the smoke &volume buttons on the tx ,&the battery is fully charged in each one , the kv1 has not got the binding button under the battery cover ,so can I just plug a binding wire into the 2.4 mfu &try it ?tanker242

hi yes you can do that just plug it in the mfu and then try binding it
dave
When it says press and hold the start button on the radio, do not press and let it go. You need to keep the start button pressed and then press and hold the binding button until the tank starts

With the old board there's 3 channels, they have to match. Try checking that first. its hidden inside the battery compartment on the tank.
