Managed to get the front and rear road wheel suspension working!
By following the instructions it won't work. You need to assemble the arms and bolt together after you have the spring under tension. The instructions would have you bolt it all together and then try and get tension. Don't work lol
Can now move on to the gearboxes.

This is exactly why I'm so grateful for threads like this. When I finally get my own you'll have saved me some real headaches.Ad Lav wrote: By following the instructions it won't work. When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

Gearbox time! And very nice they are too! Copies of the tamiya T1 box according to my friend in Singapore.
Bearings etc in the case and very sturdy. Not sure how good the motors are.
Nice metal gearbox mount too.
And had to fit these little buggars, they stop the swing arms pulling out of the hull and go behind the spring. Fiddly is an understatement!

Those little horseshoe clips bring back memories, or should that be nightmares! Following this one.

So much for gearboxes being fixed in tonight! Three hours and I'm left scratching my head!

Re: T55 new build
What a pain in the butt! I went to bed as it was truly winding me up.
The new kits have a metal gearbox plate, drilled for the mounts underneath and bolts for gearbox in top.
Fix the different studs underneath in the order they tell you gearbox won't fit. The mount goes uphill lol
Bolts for gearbox won't fit the mount unless you dismantle the gearboxes bit first lol
Long story short, spoken to Carson and a mate in Singapore and he said have to change stuff in the instructions to make it work!
I'll document the problems after work.
