Having had several Dremel discs let go even I wear eye protection when using them. Open the windows too as the fumes taste terrible!

There are two types of dremel discs, thin ones which break up if you look at them wrong, and some sturdier ones which very rarely break. Even so eye protection is a must when doing this type of job as the tiny bits of plastic removed by the disk can do serious damage.

Sometime ago I was removing the battery case of a heng long tank with the rotary disc when the disk broke and flew away like ten meters or so. It almost hit my 4 year old son neck, Extreme caution when cutting is needed and of course eye protection.AlwynTurner wrote:There are two types of dremel discs, thin ones which break up if you look at them wrong, and some sturdier ones which very rarely break.
