Buying a cheap 1/14 scale tank

Post by Plagerreap »

So I want to buy a cheap, inexpensive rc tank to tear apart and use to do what I do best. Make mock up cardboard chassises. And I was looking at buying this tank below....I don't care if it's used, or very low quality, I'm just after suspension/turret equipment. I'm trying to make my own T-90MS with cardboard right now, and then if my fancy changes, I can strip parts and make a different tank.
But are there any cheaper kits?

For that particular Abrams I don't think you'll find a better price. I'd investigate a bit, though, because that photo looks like a 1/24 to me, so either I'm wrong (likely) or that's a typo that says 1/14.

A quick check gives a 1:14 scale like this on Amazon for $55. Seems an odd scale though

I've seen lots of places selling 1/14 Abrams, but that red dome on the turret is what makes me think it might be 1/24. Most of the 1/24 IR tanks have a similar set up. But like I said, I'm likely wrong. It's just something that I'd advise more investigation before buying.

OK, I'm wrong. Again. :'(

The tanks on amazon have the red dome. At that price it's probably the best you'll find. I can't find one anywhere for less than $49.99 plus shipping, so $35.99 with free shipping is probably one of the best around.
