Truely scratch built M1A2 Abrams

Post by keno »

Thought I would try this to see if I've figured out how to post from photobucket... it's pictures of my Abrams I built back in the 80s while stationed in Germany. It's totally scratch built and the hull and turret are made of wood. The gun tube and suspension are made of aluminum. Details are from what ever material I could find. I wanted a large model but I could not find one bigger than 1/35 scale. So...
Hope this isn't too boring to you all. Hope you can see the pics. There's only a few of the outside.

That's a masterful scratchbuild! I'm impressed.

Thank you. Hope I can do well on the HL Abrams. The scratch built is just a static display. Something I challenged myself with. It has a smaller older brother about 1/16 scale. Wood also.

I started in nov 87 and had the basic hull done without detail. Been at this stage since probably about 2000. There's space for so much more detail. I've done some on the insides. Everything opens up...
I'll post more pictures if there is interest.

When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

OK, this might help when it comes to posting photos from photobucket. And yeah, I know, I said RCU instead of RCTW. Apparently Old Hippies are easily confused. So sue me. @) @) @)

So now you can post some more photos of that cool Abrams. ;)

Max-U52... that helps a great deal. I'm here at work doing all this at work on my I-phone. Guess I need to do it from my Mac. It would be easier. I'll post more pics of the Abrams as soon as I can tomorrow. I get off from work at 2:30 am and it's getting close so I'll see what I can do on the computer. Just wondering. Can I just post a picture from my library w/o using photo bucket? I'll try that too. Thanks Gary!
