Challenger 2 All Green & Camoflaged

Post by Challenger2Pete »

Well bought my Challenger 2 as a plastic tracked & gearboxed dessert sand coloured tank have since upgraded her to metal tracks idlers wheels & suspension & gearboxes sparayed her Nato Green & air brushed the camouflage in Nato Black, so now just adding back the little bits n bobs & have aquired some chains purposely rusted & camouflage netting. Also working on a Bruder 8x4 truck have converted that to RC sparayed Nato Green next thing is to convert & extend the trailer for the tank.

That tank looks just great, Pete. Tell me more about the tracks? Which ones did you use? Any photos with a good view of the tracks? I'm trying to figure out tracks to decide if I want to buy a Challenger now or wait and hope someone produces better tracks than what I've been able to find so far. I have good metal tracks on my Abrams but I've been told they aren't proper for the Challenger (they have rubber pads on both sides), and they're just a bit too wide. Any thoughts?

Hi Max, I got mine from Dave-Forgebear top guy I will take some close up pics 2morrow for you, the are metal with rubber pads but the pain is I had to put all the rubber pads in individually which my hands n fingers hurt like hell afterwards, but the were very good quality & I weathered them using Birchwood Casey Gun Metal Blue & a spray bottle got great coverage or you can paint it on or run the tracks thru if you put the liquid in a bowl.

just looked back they are Mato Tracks.

Do they have rubber pads on both sides of the tracks or just one?
