Sometimes I also forget how small these fighter planes were when I see the crew right next to them.

On the flip side, I was amazed how big some of the war birds were in person. At the local air field (Carlsbad Ca's Palomar Airport) where I grew up, several of the Corsairs used in filming Baa Baa Black Sheep were housed. On occasion a F6 Hellcat and a P38 Lightning were seen around the civilian aircraft. Those war birds were huge!
