Hi, I'm the newbie
My name is Plagerreap [Plager-reap], I'm from the US, going through high school and am obsessed with Tanks. Please don't call me Plage, hate that name. I'm not the most intelligent when it comes to RC tank technology, only been interested in them for about 2-3 months. So I'm here looking to learn and to improve my knowledge and technical skills.

Re: Hi, I'm the newbie
Welcome to the Forum. We have a number of tankers from the US who contribute here. Perhaps you could tell us whereabouts in the U'S you are - no need to be too specific, a general are would be fine. You never know, there maybe someone on your doorstep.
If you don't like "Plage" it would be useful if you could tell us how you would like to be addressed.
There is a huge amount of information here, both contained in all the posts and also in the knowledge of the posters. If you have any questions go ahead and ask. We may have heard them before but it's new to you. The only stupid question is the one you don't ask.

Hello and welcome Plagerreap,
So do you have any RC tanks yet (if so do tell us about them) or are you still thinking about what you would like to get? If you need any advice this is the place to ask for sure!

I have a 1/16 rc M1A2 Abrams and I'm looking at getting the 1/16 T-90, but can't seem to find one on Amazon, haven't looked in EBay yet though.

Re: Hi, I'm the newbie
In my experience "Amazon" is one of the more expensive places for 1/16 RC Armour.
I would go to the recommended vendors site on this Forum first and don't be put off if most of them are European because almost all of them will happily and speedily post to Nebraska,
And welcome to the Forum,
By the way if you do order from a European dealer remember to remind them that you are in the USA otherwise they might charge you VAT (Value added Tax)and that is 19%

Re: Hi, I'm the newbie
I agree totally with Mr Jarndice I would not buy 1/16 armour or accessories on Amazon. Even with my prime membership and free shipping it would be easier to buy from one of our reccomended vendors on the forum. I live in the states (Connecticut) and do most of my business with the people located in Europejarndice wrote:In my experience "Amazon" is one of the more expensive places for 1/16 RC Armour.

Shaun,

There are so many good people on here who have dealt with folks like me in the USA and I'd have to say I purchase about 75% of my parts and tanks overseas.
A great vendor in the USA is Imex/ Taigen here in Florida. (Erik) For tanks and upgrade bits. They are my source for parts in the states.
Do not be fooled though.....
The shipping from Europe is very fast priced fairly and packed very safely. The options are much better for upgrade detail parts too IMHO.
Carl

Tanks alot....

Re: Hi, I'm the newbie
I recently purchased a HL T-90 from Haya UK (I believe they ship worldwide) and would recommend you check them out. Fast delivery and (Andrew) responds quickly to queries too. You will probably find them on Amazon and Ebay too but, at least in the UK, the best price was had by going through their own website. Btw, the HL T-90 is a great tank straight out the box, and I'm generally very pleased with it (although the 'platinum' version I got with all metal running is, I think, a bit pricey). The new RX18 they come with is actually a significant step up in terms of sound and features.Plagerreap wrote:I have a 1/16 rc M1A2 Abrams and I'm looking at getting the 1/16 T-90, but can't seem to find one on Amazon, haven't looked in EBay yet though.
