When did the Germans switch from dunkelgrau to dunkelgelb?
See thread title. I've got a StuG III Ausf. G on the way and need to decide what camo scheme to give it. Is it conceivable that there were gray ones running around?
JagdPanther / Leopard 2A6 / StuG Ausf. G / KV-2 / M4A3A4 / MTLB / 2.5 ton truck 6x6

Good evening, Lert,
I don't know about the 'G' series but the earlier ones from 'A' to 'D' were most certainly grau.

Painless

That's a neat, well ordered, and very comprehensive looking webpage, Wibb
I've also used these two links in the past for quick reference:
http://stugiii.com/germanvehiclecamouflage.html
and,
http://www.achtungpanzer.com/panzer-col ... 4-1945.htm
Lots of other sources out there too; but they can be quite a distraction from tinkering with tanks

I think I read it was in 1943 that the base colour was ordered changed from Dark Grey to DunkelGelb (dark Yellow).
