Good stuff............ Neal, if your tank is 2.4 Ghz you might have an extra antenna wiring that you don't need that might still be connected to the upper hull. It is the same connector that will hook up to the thick red wires that comes with the recoil unit. You will be able to use that for the wiring so that the upper will separate completely from the lower.
You can't really adjust how hard it hits since it is the spring loading action that is responsible. I think the IBU parameter will only adjust how long it take the motor to rewind. You might be able to make it hit less hard by switch the spring on the recoil unit.
On the otherhand, if you are using IBU anyway, and if you are somewhat handy, try this mode and it will give you one of the best recoil action you can get:

Re: Taigen infrared recoiling barrel
I need help, I am having the same issue. Can you post a photo where and how to connect it. Thanks.ONeal wrote:MichaelC, Raminator, WELL ALRIGHTY!!! Its the RED wire. Recoils back and then moves forward now. Will tweak the time and see if I can get it not to hit so hard on recoil. Now if I can find a sensible way to wire it up. Hate having another wire to disconnect when I remove top hull.
Thanks for the help! Neal
