Hi folks!

Post by Ducat »

Just built my first HL Chally 2. Pro version.

Followed the manual, so it looks like i got the mirror supports wrong, and one of the fuel tanks is upside down!! ( Down to me!)

Ho Hum.

How are you supposed to fill the smoker tank?

stood it on its bum at an angle of 45 degrees, can't feed the oil tube down into the smoker!

Do I have to open this thing up just for that?

Got a couple of transfers with nowhere to go according to the manual. No's 7 and 14. Any ideas?

(gonna have to open it up eventually to upgrade gearboxes, smoker, speaker, control board, Wheels etc.)

Really looking forward to having fun with this!!

That smoke- refilling puzzle crops up with other newer models too. Normally, the instruction manual will tell you where 'the hole that is needing filling' is.. :/ and by how much. But not always, it seems.
For my T34, I have to tip it an angle, as with your Chally, and pump a few drops of the oil down the 'exhaust' pipe..

You mean they finally changed it from "The hole of adding"? @) :/

Just be careful not to add too much. I use a syringe designed to give oral medication to children (around here the pharmacies give them away) and I only add 1/2 milliliter at a time. The tube that comes with the tank usually fits just right on the tip of the syringe, but if it's too small just heat it a bit with a lighter and it will soften up and stretch out to fit.

So where are you located?

And welcome aboard. 8) 8)

Isn't it great how God's country (or county, if that wasn't a typo) can change according to who you speak to? Michigan's entire Upper Peninsula uses the telephone area code of 906, and I always enjoyed the bumper stickers that say "906 is God's Area Code", as well as many other examples.

Now I'll have to use google earth for Maidstone so I can see for myself. You've got me learnin' stuff already, Ducat. Fine job, Man. ;) 8) :haha: :/

:haha: :haha: .Ha, no, Gary I think it's probably still 'the hole of adding'. I just paraphrased that infamous instruction :haha: That said, manuals and tanks are improving, indeed I see that Taigen are now offering user manuals for download from their website, plus a brace of wiring diagrams. In fact, it's great to see input from boards such as this helping to shape provision for the hobby; as Shaun observed.
