Yep, Taigen is going to correct the last return roller... But they wont correct the sprochet location (is too low) and the rear hull. Also the tools are still molded in the hull. I really dont understand why they did not correct it instead of same mistakes again and again.
Also I think I dont like the metal the tank is made of. I mean, is the zinc allow, and I preffer aluminium like the tamiya or the Asiatam panzer IV that I have (Hi Jarndice, lol)
Anyway the new taigen board comes with an extra sound board and we can change sounds and use our true 2.4 radios, so if the boards are cheap enought it does not look bad.

Re: Panzer IV deluxe..but same old errors?
Just noticed these in a thread on RCU. They may be of interest to those speculating on buying the new metal Pz IV:
Imex-Erik was badgered into revealing these
and the new MFU setup. Those on this Forum who also use RCU, will be familiar with them; but I think they're still of interest...
One obvious change is the provision for non-Taigen 6ch receivers to be used. What intrigues me, though, is whether the sound card port/connector could be used as a direct link to a Beier soundcard. Now that would make for a great system....

I was looking at the schematic and it appears that the output on the sound board is only (3watts) I guess to match the speaker?? Maybe I'm missing something. It would be nice to be able to at least upgrade the speaker fitted since it doesn't seem to sound very good from the videos I've seen. A Beier sound board would be an excellent addition with such greater output

Tanks alot....

Hopefully as with other Tanks we will be able to buy just the hull complete with the electronics and match it with an interpretation of a variant such as Alwyns tour de force although his hull would need to be stretched but you get the idea,
It would also save me from spending £500 for lots of bits that I already have in my parts box as well as a wooden crate that I don't need.
Shaun.

I asked Dominique at Rctank.de about exactly the same thing.jarndice wrote:Hopefully as with other Tanks we will be able to buy just the hull complete with the electronics and match it with an interpretation of a variant such as Alwyns tour de force although his hull would need to be stretched but you get the idea,

He told me that he would get a version, without the wooden box, but he wouldnt get the unpainted version...

As tempting as the Tank sarcophagus is (or coffin depending on your moodjarndice wrote:Hopefully as with other Tanks we will be able to buy just the hull complete with the electronics and match it with an interpretation of a variant such as Alwyns tour de force although his hull would need to be stretched but you get the idea,

I already have that Asiatam alloy beast lurking somewhere, and looking sullen. One of these days, I'm determined to turn it into a passable PZ IV...as I don't like wasting money (and it's not just a scottish thing

I'd also trim the rear engine deck so that it slopes, as it should, and as the Tamiya does. In fact, I might even get a Tamiya upper hull and mod it to fit the Asiatam

The sounds in the Taigen module don't impress. They're not far removed from that hideous monotonous chugging that characterised the old HL sound..and it was also one sound for all tank types. But where HL have improved their sounds appreciably, desirably in fact, this Taigen sound doesn't cut it for me. Still, if it were possible to plug a third party sound card into that slot of the revised MFU...like the Beier (without having to solder) then the unit would be more tempting.
