mato tanks?

what did you guys thinkof them..most commets i find are semi or all negitive..seems odd for such expensive tanks to still be made if theare that bad...i was thinking of getting an m36b1...which will set me back about $925 here in canada..so i wanted to know...looked every where for close up of the m10 cannot find any but factory pics..also wondered what there olive paint job was like in person..again only seen stock photos (all of the samr tank)...thanks for any help

I have one of the M36 B1 models purchased from a Friend here on the Forum and it really is a Beauty. The metalwork is solid and weighty and the exterior detailing is a step above the Taigen models. The interior electronics are based on the Clark TK22 and the Turret servos plug directly in. I'm really looking forward to adding more detail and doing the paint in the Model Masters Olive Drab that I favor. Several other Forum members have one as well and seem to enjoy it. Good luck with either the M36 or the M10.

thanks i like the m10 as well but the detail seems a lot better on the m36..i saw close up shoots of the m36...has some internal detail i did not know it had untill i saw yours..i figure the m2 50 handle could be just cut off and put on the bottom..i would ge tthe nice 50 cal the tank zone has but is to much to ge tit here..like 75 bucks to much for just a gun

I bought a Mato Tiger 1 - I sent it straight back:
The left hand track would dismount after travelling less than 2 feet, in spite of the TK22 installed, the sound quality was awful and the exterior detail was worse than any Tiger by another manufacturer.
For £600 I would expect a far higher standard than that.
I won't buy another Mato, I will stick with Torro and Taigen, the quality is much better.

Another forum member bought a Panzer III - his problems were far worse than those I experienced.

I had a Mato PzIII and it was a sweet little tank. I bought it before they were making RTR tanks so I put in a TK22 and all the other components (rotation motor, elevation, etc) and it was a real good runner. There are a ton of videos of it on my youtube channel. Then I sold it to Mark and he's still having fun with it. Some Mato tanks are better than others, but I think the main problem with the RTR tanks is the quality of assembly. I've spoken to several guys that bought the sherman or a variant and they said the workmanship was shoddy, to say the least. Screws stripped out and held in pace with super glue, etc, and Mato won't honor the warranty if you disassemble any part of the tank, even removing the tracks. As much as I liked the PzIII, I won't buy another Mato tank. They're just not worth the price, IMHO.

well it seems more guys say not to get one that do..and i figure paying all that coin you be getting a better unit not just a let me finish this so i can go home job...i will say i have messages mato with questions and got NO reply at all..much better service from taigen at least he made a good effort

JUST SAY NO! The price you pay for what you get or may get is not good enough. You pay a LOT of money for a tank may or may not be good, flip a coin!

I will NEVER EVER EVER buy another Mato tank!

As Gary said I have the Mato all metal Panzer iii,and apart from the odd road wheel popping off it's a good solid runner and I am enjoying it. I am leaving it as Gary set it up, firstly because I'm Terrible at electrical stuff, and Gary set it up way better than I will ever be able to do! That's why I bought from him and not Mato
I honestly prefer the plastic tanks with metal upgrades , I have a Taigen metal turret and swapped it out for a plastic one, easier to chop up
The Mato ones seem to be a bit pricey, unreliable (from what I have read) you can get a lot more bang for your $ £ with a Taigen IMO

I too bought the tiger 1 before mato started making rtr tanks. I think at the time they only had tiger 1 and one other tank. Ill agree that they are not the best. I had to tap a few of the holes for screws as they were just a hole. But with a little work, i am pretty happy with it. Admittedly, one of the gearboxes seized and blew up my motor, which i dont really care cause its a piece of shit gearbox and motor and now i have an excuse to put something a bit quieter in it. I ordered one last week and waiting for delivery. At the end of the day, its all metal and that part i like. Oh, and im not a fan of the suspension either. Bit stiff
