Thinking of a HL StuG ...

Post by Lert »

I'm thinking of getting a HL StuG. I've always liked the machine, it's a legendary machine in its own right and how numerous it was combined with how it was used leads to many, many great detailing, weathering and stowage opportunities.

Is there anything in particular that I need to look out for? Any gross inaccuracies, on the scale of for example the gun mantlet on the HL Pz IV or HL Tiger's turret ring placement? Does anyone have a picture of the inside of a stock HL StuG? It's probably very cramped in there ...

Those are indeed wonderful pictures. Thank you for posting them! I'm still looking for internal pictures of the HL StuG though, not the RL one. :)

Still, awesome pictures, saved to my harddrive.

It's not a Stug, but this is the inside of my Panzer III, which, I Believe, has the same lower hull. The first is the unmodified hull as I tried to fit a Clark board. The second is what it looks like after cutting out the battery box.

. To put it mildly, there is not a lot of room inside even after surgery..

Thanks Silver. Yeah the StuG should have the same lower as the Pz III. It's really remarkable how HL have managed to fit their standard hardware in that small a space, and I guess it shows why there's no R/C Pz II or Pz I yet. I'd snatch those up in a heartbeat ...
