I'm buying some chains off eBay to make my own to put on my tanks..anyone tried this..if so what are the best sizes..I've purchased 5mm and 3mm plus a box of mixed sized rings to add to the ends....I'll post pics when they come to let you all know how they work

What are they intended for? Towing chains? Chains that hold stuff on like the pins on the spare track holders etc?

Just general chains to hold tree logs on and to just dangle from the sides and back

On my PzIV, I used brass chain that was sold as 15 links per inch for the retaining chains (holding pins and such in place). I'm not sure how that translates into metric chain. How is your chain measured? 5-mm measures the distance from outer edge to outer edge of the link, or the inside of the link?

Here's are the chains 3x5mm and 2x3mm..I added them quickly last night to give you an idea of what I ment to do..there only £2.50 for 10 meters on ebay

The drain caps on the Air Cleaners were secured by chains as was the Tow Hook Pintle Pin on the Tiger 1.
