Sherman IIa

Post by 88-bait »

Having done this Italian theatre Sherman once before, I felt I had to tweak the finish as over-weathering occurred and had to be done again :{ (serves me right for rushing it!) So, the usual strip down was necessary for another light coat of Olive Drab on the upper hull only. I may have flopped the other way this time, but its easier to add than take away. Patience is a virtue as they say. ;)

I think it looks perfect. Don't change a thing. 8)
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

Don't change it? Really? That's very good of you lads :) As said the bottom half remains with dry mud effect which I'm happy with and I guess I'll go with your advice then  One of frankie's recent crew has had his moustache removed and a wild woodbine placed in his mouth :D

I would like to post bigger pictures so that you can see a bit more clearly, as I have put Italian slogans in the dust on the sides of the hull. I've seen it done with chalk in Europe in real life pictures. Italian-English translator on Google to the rescue! :D Basically, its written with a thin brush with the same olive drab and looks like fingers in the dust.

Now that the IIa is finished, I can get on with my 1C hybrid 8)

Cheers lads
