Aussie I like your one! Which surprises me. I'm not normally a fan of figures I think they make our models look toy like. The map helps yours..nice touch mate. Gives some narrative to the figure. Makes him a little more interesting.

Mate , I just use Tamiya paints and very small brushes whilst wearing my glasses to see what I'm painting.
I'm far , far from a good figure painter compared to some on here , they are museum quality.

The map is actually a tiny part of the Normandy offensive map cut out and added.

I really like this one too! how did you put that pistol in his hand? I have a real nice looking 1:18 scale revolver that i wanna put in the hand of a tank commander. just needs some paint.

Good evening,
Before paint, warm the fingers of the figures hand with a blow dryer or other controllable heat source. That will allow you to carefully bend the hand or fingers to make the cup form that the human hand takes when holding a revolver or pistol. Let cool and paint to suit. If you are going to the trouble of putting a weapon in the Commanders hand, make sure to paint it up accurately and using a micro drill or pin vise, drill out the bore so it looks realistic.

Did a double-take, here Painless. That really is the 'Duke'...the hell it is . Seen from various angles, as per the other posted shots, it still looks uncannily like him. I'm still a fan of his war flicks, and his idiosyncratic mannerisms. That, despite the fact that he- unlike many Hollywood stars of the time (Lee Marvin, James Stewart and many more) who did their 'bit' in the War- still managed to avoid even a token enlistment.

Good afternoon, sir. I am not surprised that the HL molds for their figures come out looking like well known personages. I am still trying to figure out who the stock German Commanders look like. Also, why have they not put out a Russian Commander? They have two tanks out but no stock Commander for the Red Army. This Tamiya DAK Commander I am currently working on sort of looks like Rutger Hauer.
