Don't sell your first custom tank , keep it as long as you can.
Why do you need the metal turret so badly?
The lighter plastic ones can look just as good and give far less trouble as the added weight can give you headaches unless you know exactly what your doing and how to counter balance all the weight.
And you will save coin to buy other far more necessary items to build up a reliable R/C tank platoon.

I agree with you Aussie the need for metal in all parts of a build is IMHO overrated. You can get excellent details and quality without all the added weight.Aussie wrote:Don't sell your first custom tank , keep it as long as you can.

I ordered a complete plastic Tiger upper hull and turret from Mr Forgebear and it is by far better than my Taigen metal turret setup.
My Taigen metal tiger I has the heavy metal tiger turret and plastic upper hull that I had to reinforce to prevent breaking and allow for proper turret rotation without interference.
It works fine now but the added weight had to be balanced so I wouldn't damage the turret ring.
Tanks alot....

I see...Well.... the lighter plastic turrets are hard to find, atleast for me. I do agree about saving money though, i do plan on getting either a Challenger 2 or a Leopard 2a6 after the Sherman.Aussie wrote:Don't sell your first custom tank , keep it as long as you can.

The Taigen KV-1 comes with a plastic turret and upper hull. The only part of the turret that is metal is the gun barrel, all the rest of the metal is in the lower chassis, suspension, running gear and tracks.
