Good stowage is like the very best weathering ... accumulated over time.

Louis, where are you? I have a perfect length of rope to wrap around the handles at the rear of your Stug IV. If you're in the states I'll throw in a couple jerry cans, and of course there's no charge. It would really tickle me to know I had provided a small detail for a cool tank (or would that be tank destroyer?). PM me an address and I'll stick it in an envelope for ya. About your elevation, did you look at the system they use in the Panther turrets? With that funny knob/sliderail gizmo? And I've only just started learning about the Stug IV (not that I have the Stug III down yet, by a long shot) so forgive my ignorance, but isn't that one of those saukopf (sp?) mantlets? And the real thing had an 88? That's one thing that bugs me about airsoft, the 96mm cannon. Yours looks like it might have recoil? And those skirts. That's damn fine work, Man. How does it drive? You post some video and you'll be my Hero for at least 20 minutes. @) @) @)

When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

Hi,
No need, thank you.
Your Stug 3 would be a better match with this Stug 3, one of my earlier project now requiring a much needed complete overhaul to bring it to latest standards.

Regards,

Both the StuG III and IV had the same 75mm gun, it was the Nashorn with the 88.

I've often wondered why they built the StuG IV given that it had the same gun as the later-model Panzer IVs without the advantages of the turret. I realise that they wouldn't have been able to fit the long-barreled 88 from the Jagdpanther and Königstiger into the StuG casement, but surely the short-barrel 88 from the Tiger would have?
