Clark Tk-22 layout changes ?

Post by MichaelC »

Saw this alarming post yesterday on Facebook. Don't know what is going on. Almost look like it is photoshopped or the board is mis-printed. No changes on the website so if it is indeed true is does cause a bit of a problem(s). J2 (Servo recoil and programming) is now the furtherest of the three ports. J3 which used to be the small flash port is now part of this servo connector grouping replacing J5, and the old EPROM flash port J6 is now J5. Lastly, the two pin flash connector port is now J24 ?!?!?

Either we need new doc, or the new pic is a fake ?!?!?

Clark actually replied, saying to ignore the J numbers on the board, which are for manufacturing purposes. You should follow the instruction on the Clark web site. The exact post reads "This rumor is 100% not correct, labels on PCB are for manufacturing only, please follow what tk22 webpage said as usual."

Micheal I just recently hooked one of these up and the IR flash port that on my board says j24 I had to triple check myself. When I wired it up to this port it worked fine and the schematic says j3Image

That's good to know. Thanks.

From a customer service point of view, the old one matches the diagram, the new one doesn't. Moreover, we are talking about the same set of labels that are around the same locations. Kinda of confusing.

Disgruntled customer trying it on after making their own magic smoke me thinks. I sort of understand what he is saying but had he followed the instructions this wouldnt have happened.

Not going into details , but there is a history with mr mcovalsk with a lot of back and forth orders, payment etc ( I was told )
Now that does not say that this is confusing , but as other stated here , this is probably from own mistake sadly .

Not sure how many tk 60 I have programmed the past last months , and to be honest, I never ever looked at the small printing on the board it self. just place jumper as seen on Clark page .

Smoked my tk22 way back.. Coz I accedently placed it on my tanks metal lower hull without protection :{

I feel as you do Mr Maxmekker. The only way I wire these boards is exactly as my diagram ( manufacturer specific) in my folder that I print after downloaded from the Clark webpage. No matter what board it is be it ibu2, Clark etc I always print out a manual and follow it very carefullyImage

I know it maybe easier to just pull up on a webpage and keep it up on a screen but I think my method of a reference book makes it much easier and forces me to keep checking it.Image

Kind of a man from the dark ages I guessImage

I also keep pages with notes and board specific radio setup etc...

Not at all.( old man from the Dark ages)

I do Printout to, atleast of the basic layout of Board + wiring . When ( like you) dealing With different Boards and manufactors, that's a must. Trend nowdays are in this manner, you get the Product, and need to og to Product home page for more info.

If I was to put along the intire printout of Clark info, the Parcel would triple in sice when sending a tk60  :haha:

BTW, he deleted all the posts over at rcu in the tread :eh:
