Re: T34/85 HATCH INTERIOR COLOUR

Post by Afrikakorps »

Hi Herman,
most of the drivers hatch insides were painted white / off white / light beige, but not always. Some were the outside colour, ob4 green.
This may be done by the crew or the particular factory it was made at. My guess is the factory,, as i don't think the crews had time, resources nor inclination to paint the hatch interior.
For early or late T34's there are examples of white or not white. Either way can be correct, its personal choice.
Cheers

Great information AfrikaKorps I wonder if the Germans had their hand in painting the ones they captured white if they came hull exterior color green.

Since they added some updates to the captured vehicles such as Panzer III cupolas and radio equipment etc....
Tanks alot....

Its possible that they did paint it white when they refitted it for German use, but I like the the pic as it shows one interior drivers hatch white and another a darker colour, probably the exterior colour.
Also note the german crosses on the roof of the two different types of early T34/76.
Almost anything is possible :wtf: :D
