What size hex for Pantiger/Tiger 1 idler wheel?
All the other wheels come off with a 2.5mm hex drive, but on the idler wheel a 2mm is too big, and 1.5mm drive is too small. I've tried a Phillips and that didn't work. What am I doing it wrong?

i do not know... i remove all of them with the same hex drive... if you look closely, they are intact or maybe have their inserts damaged?

It was a large Phillips head, now I know.

I think the Pantiger/Tiger 1 you're talking about is a Taigen. I don't know about Taigen but I know about Heng Long. I'm not sure if both share the same design. Heng Long's Pantiger/Tiger1 doesn't use hex screw on its idlers, instead it's a flat/Phillips head screw. I use a very small flat screw driver (about 3mm), which can go through the hole on the idlers, to release the idlers. Maybe you can try my way.
By the way, can't you just open/split the idlers to see what's inside?

Try a small flat blade screwdriver & see how it goes.lifeofbrian wrote:All the other wheels come off with a 2.5mm hex drive, but on the idler wheel a 2mm is too big, and 1.5mm drive is too small. I've tried a Phillips and that didn't work. What am I doing it wrong?
Sometimes the phillips heads are rounded in the first attempt but respond with a flat head after that.
Let us know how you go.

Depending on the manufacturer, you might have an imperial fitting instead of a metric one too. If 2 mm is too small and 1.5 mm is too big, you might need to try a 1/16" bit.
