Hi Guy's
Does anyone have any good pics of the Kv 2 welds. I wanted to try and do most of them but I'm struggling to find any decent close pics.
Cheers
Jake

Re: Kv2 welds
Good morning,
Having built one of these guys and about to do another, I used _the Book_ on KVs by Neal Stokes ( kindly lent to me by Sass ) for research. The welds on early Soviet armor, especially the KV-II series, were very clean and neat. Their tanks from before Barbarossa scarcely bare any resemblance in quality of build to the tanks built during the knock down, drag out with Germany that ensued.
regards,
Painless

Looks like the front glacis plate needs to come off the HL KV upper hull as well as the extra plating on the sides. Not sure I'm looking forward to doing that!

RobW,
It's a journey, no doubt. The KV-II is such an amazing monster of a tank to build and will definitely be the biggest crown jewel of your collection when you feed the detail into it. ;o)

Re: Kv2 welds
Thanks Painless I'll give the web a search later looks interesting. My half built Kv2 I picked up fom Tom has been sitting there a long time waiting to be finished..finally got around to do some bits this morning.
Replaced the broken torsion so shes a runner now. Few Parts from tank de installed, light was from another ebay company..managed to find the periscopes in the spare parts box so that was lucky and fitted the engine grills and exsausts. few hours work but already looking happier.

Re: Kv2 welds
Hey Carl
Nope was from a German one called dioramaparts. I couldn't remember yesterday when typing that's why I didn't say. I bought it months ago.
and Painless the book you mentioned is very pricey. hard to find anywhere under a 120 plus shipping
looks a lovely book but above my price range.
