Technical Reconstruction / Tamiya Jagdpanther

Post by Guido Henn »

Hello tank driver,

I have received an order from Norman, he built for a customer a early Jagdpanther based on Tamiya FO-kit.
My job is to rebuild the main weapon for servo function, here I want to show you some photos.....

The main weapon I have replaced immediately I got from ASIATAM a 8,8er tube with outer tube to the guide that fits better than the 7,5er and besides, it harmonizes better with the dome of the Tamiya kit.

So now to my task here, in the model, should I the main weapon
so that all functions are realized by installing servo, so
Lifting / lowering function, the function of the tube retreat, and of course the pivot function left / right

Many Tamiya Jagdpanther owners know even the circumstances of the FO-kit. Is shaking off the main weapon everything, and that too in all directions.

Here is a photo of the main components without the motors:

And here's a photo which is taken from the kit, everything else can be left to the recovery:

For the construction of new storage of the main weapon I use aluminum 8x4x2,5mm in various strength levels, ball bearings.
For the articulation of the servos I use ball joints with brass ball M2 of the company Kavan and a little 2mm threaded rods, as shown in the photo.
Of course, then straight pins and a lot of screws and small parts.

And here the servos I usually use when JP is enough space
for example PzIII smaller servos are used.

And here's a photo from the shell, mounted on bearings of the recording, the main weapon. Measure and build now the pivot points for the servos
