A forlorn hope I know, but has anyone managed to r.c. sucessfully the 1/16th scale kit of the( RENAULT FT17 CHAR/TANK) . or made it towable
plenty of photos but no builds.

Thanks for all the help guys, it has been helpful to let me see that it can be done.
I will take the simplest course, using Tamiya twin gearbox motors and stripped out heng long motherboard etc. yes I know the sound is lousy but it is economical and simple
as the build area is so small.
but at the moment it is research, as the main kit is rather expensive.

You can find the main kit for about 60 euros. I bought the tamiya twin gearbox too, and thought about using the RX18 but it would fry the motors. The twin gearbox works with 3 volts or so.

I think Im just going to build the Renault and leave it as an static tank. I dont see myself driving it. Its very small and fragile. And the tamiya twin gearboxes are way too fast...
