Unusual Sherman tank

Post by c.rainford73 »

I've yet to build any American armor yet and came across this interesting photo today. I'd compare it to German schurzen. I see A lot of amazing Sherman builds on the forum and wanted to know if anyone has attempted this or might want to...

Looks like a real unique and different tank

I imagine it's some kind of defense against the panzerfaust and other hand held tank killers. Very intricate setup

Anythings worth a try eh.............
Notice the hatches are obstructed with this set up.

Any info on what it was made of?
Was it a bunch of boxes filled with a heavy medium ?

Great pic, never seen it before.

I must admit that is a really cool and interesting Sherman really reminiscent of a Panzer 4 kind of turret setup

I wonder how many of these actually were in service or if it was just some kind of experimental setup I'll have to do some research on this one
