Sat down today and completed Steps 38 and 39 (RC) Nothing unusual, just some wire routing and turret parts. Step 40 is the Commander's Cupola and the ABER fiddlys will come back into play. Pics:

Painless this Tiger is coming along nicely. I agree with you once you are involved in the assembly -

The fit and finish of the Tamiya kits one quickly realizes that the price you pay is for the level of engineering in the kit design. You have however added to that and taken it to the next level.
Tanks alot....

Very true, C.R. It's all about the engineering of the kit with me. Tonight I did the Tamiya half of Step 40 (RC). I'll start putting together ABER bits for the hatch and cupola my next free night. Pics:

Go for it, Tiggr. Feed your inner child some fun. ;o) Big storm blowing through last night into tomorrow and it is crazy cold. High today was 4 degrees so any joints that could complain, did. I did sit down and begin the ABER work on the cupola. First up was something easy. Mounted the hatch catch and drilled out for the padlock. Pics:

Looks great so far..... I did this conversion a while too only mine came prebuilt, I used a metal barrel to and found it to make the turret front heavy so I had to add weight to the rear of the turret.

Good morning all. Hotte, thank you! That is high praise from a master of the Hobby. Herman, Klaatu Barada Nikto! Reaper, thank you. The metal barrel balance thing is a given with these kits and their turret mounted rotation motors. I have self stick tire balance weights to go in the Stowage Panniers on the back of the turret. I'll need to get out my scale and do a balancing act to get it right.
regards,
Painless
