I think a good portion of the enjoyment I get from the hobby is in the engineering side, building things that work like the real deal. I haven't had much opportunity for hard outdoor running yet (living in an apartment and all), but that's what I have in mind while working.

Pretty much in the same boat. Some of the super detailed builds here keep me humble. I've enjoyed learning to build things that aren't in kit form, detail, weather and the like. It's going to be a long time till I have a Tank of the Month submission.
