Tank fanatic based in Gloucester

Post by SgtMalarky »

Hi
After years of making and studying WW2 German AFVs I have recently taken up creating Lego tank diorama(s). After a serious cycling accident I have decided to sell my bikes and invest in 1/16 RC Tanks.
I am looking at a Taigen Tiger1,to start with as this seems a pretty good place to start.
Question: "how many tanks does one person need?"
Answer: "one more than they already have"

Great to have you along mate, although I suspect that the decision to get out of bikes & into this RC tank caper must be the result of a head injury !!
Ask all our collective partners and financial advisors & they will all concur :/ :haha:

Pictures when you can please.
Do you have an idea what your first mod will be ?

Hello Herman

Thanks for the reply.

Broken leg mate. I can now limp like a veteran! I was thinking of Taigen/HL Tiger 1 to start with. The reviews look good. Seems a good place to start.
Although don't seem to be able to get one until May 2017.

Good afternoon Sgt, Welcome to the Forum, I was surprised that you were told to wait until May 2017 for your Taigen Tiger 1 (Good choice) It begs the question as to who you are thinking of purchasing the Tiger 1 from..
PLEASE NOT NITROTEK !!!
We on this Forum can pretty much guarantee that a new Taigen Tiger 1 can be on your workshop bench long before then and from a reputable dealer.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Hi Lieutenant
Thanks for the reply

I have been looking on the web and found Nitrotek but they are showing out of stock. I have no patience unfortunately! I like the look of the tricolour metal version.
I admit I was surprised about the stock situation. Any help would be gratefully received.

Sarge, First things first, AVOID NITROTEK with all your being, They have a dreadful reputation.
I offer a few dealers, all of whom are absolutely trustworthy,
www.forgebeartanks.com
This is Dave and Julie's site and Dave is a valued member of this Forum.
www.rctank.de
another totally reliable dealer,
Both of these will sell you a TAIGEN Tiger1 and both sites have a large supply of upgrades and helpful advise.
www.heng-long-panzer.de
This dealer is what he says he is, A Heng Long dealer, If your German is not upto it then look at the top of the page and CLICK on the German flag which will (Quite Rightly :haha: )Change into the Union flag and it is all English.
A good dealer very reliable and well worth searching through what is on sale although that holds true for all the dealers I have listed. Shaun.

Tankzone is apparently a decent dealer NOW !!!
But when I used his services some years ago he took me for £4oo+ which to this day I have never seen so don't expect me to recommend him,
Forgebear has a Taigen Tiger 1 still in stock by the way.
