Early Birthday Present.

Post by silversurfer1947 »

The coming year will see me celebrate a major milestone (hopefully!) as I reach my three score years and ten. Whether the passing years have disturbed the balance of my mind only time will tell, as I have bought myself an early birthday present.

I am sincerely hoping my modeling skills, such as they are, will be up to the task I have set myself.

That'll be the 'new' 60, then, Richard :D . If it's not tempting fate unduly, I wish you well with that milestone, and many subsequent ones
I imagine you bought this (justifiable!) piece of self-indulgence from DKLM........http://www.dklmrc.com/MO116_RC_SdKfz234 ... 19461.aspx
If so, I wonder what the postal charge was, and the delivery timescale. I'm also assuming you're happy with their service? I recall positive reviews here on the Forum. I'm thinking of looking beyond Europe for future purchases...even obtaining my first and likely only
Tamiya Tank (a Panther) from a Japanese source, if one can be recommended...
Happy New Year/Hogmanay, by the way!
Roy.

I actually got it from RcTank.de. I got a deal from Dominique, including postage for the kit plus the optional extras. I asked him for his best price all inclusive. It saved me some money. Whether I could have done better elsewhere, I have no idea, but I am happy with what I got for my money.

So far as delivery was concerned, I pre-ordered, paid for it on Dec 22, and collected it from the post office yesterday, after they tried to deliver on 29 December. Dominique was in regular contact by email with updates. I was really pleased with the service I got.

And a Happy Hogmanay to you.

Great birthday present, I hope it provides many happy hours of construction/painting/finishing. I admit to also sneaking up on this significant milestone this year and I really hope that 70 is the new 60, although my body is telling me it's more like 65. :) Anyway when the day comes party well and don't worry about the hangover until it happens!
