Sending items from UK to USA/Australia etc

Post by AlwynTurner »

Hi, does anyone have experience of shipping parcels to our friends on other continents, specifically
which courier?
cost?
Customs tariffs?
Experience of damage in transit?

I am going to start producing Nashorn kits and I need to get an idea for my customers of the likely costs and implications before shipping off any items in the hope they will get there in one piece

Hi, over the last year I have sold a lot of my scalextric items with many going overseas, I have always used royal mail and had no problems
but always sent off tracked and signed for, if you go to your post office you can get a leaflet which gives you your costs based on weights
and measurements, regards john.

Hi Alwyn,
For this type of product I would always use a Postal/Express service
Your parcel weights will be quite low, thus keeping costs dowm.
When shipping interntionally make sure you accurately declare the contents ie what the material is made from.As the recipient usually pays duties and taxes at destination it will assist them
If you declare a relatively low value thus keeping these costs down.
Pls let me know if I can help any further.
Best Regards
Nigel

Hi Alwyn,
You can obtain quotes from the intertnet, there are quite a few parcel companies
who offer price comparisons. Probably need to enter a destination address pieces
And a weight.
