M3 (mostly Heng Long)
M3 (mostly Heng Long)
Currently building up the resin hull from Haya. Turret has been primed, and just sorting the bogeys. Was planning on using smaller return rollers but the track teeth prevent this - they're actually too big for the Sherman rollers but the bracket has been adjusted to suit.
My attempt for the M3 type. The plasticard has been pinned into the bogey case, and I think there's space to do this. Will test before butchering anymore units. Anyone spot any likely problems before I do this?

Re: M3 (mostly Heng Long)
I'd just check you've still got clearance between the top of the roller and the sponson..

remember...it's just a plastic tank...

Re: M3 (mostly Heng Long)
Just about, but can't get the track off over it. Think I'll need to put a slot into the top of the others so I can drop the return wheel by a mm or so. That or find some thinner tracks!
Re: M3 (mostly Heng Long)
Dropped the return roller slightly, and just need an extra half link in the tracks. Typically, one link is too long..... but if I don't add any links the road wheel next to the drive cog is somewhat compressed.

Re: M3 (mostly Heng Long)
If you sit it on its suspension as-is, how is the track sag over the top run ?

Have a look at the Mato adjustable idler bud...I've converted a few HL chassis over to it..

remember...it's just a plastic tank...

Thanks - these ones? http://www.forgebeartanks.com/store/p19 ... uster.html Will be running a bit with the HL set to see what falls off (other than the return wheels!) so can fit later on if needed.frankie wrote:Have a look at the Mato adjustable idler bud...I've converted a few HL chassis over to it..

....and on the subject of loose tracks..lol

Re: M3 (mostly Heng Long)
Wow, wonder how it didn't throw a track. Is there any (good) reason for running that loose? Mine aren't that bad so should be fine....
