I understand that if we want to do battles with other people than Tamiya will be a good option. However we will only battle with the participants of the challenge and they all get the same tank. So we don't need compatability with other brands battle systems. So you can take that path or go for Taigen Tanks with their own system which will come in at about £250 each, As long as you understand that you will not be able to fight outside your own closed environment simply because no one else will have the same kit as you, then that might be the way to go.

Torro is quite a bit cheaper, especially the plastic one. Budgetwise it would be a much better fit, but if Taigen has (big) advantages compared to Torro than we might consider those.
