The division markings on the tanks are SS but the kubel numberplate is wehrmacht.

Oh yes Tom, I am sure that it would have happened during the war.
In fact, I think Otto Carius says he even used an American jeep for reconnaissance. So we could even replace the kubel with a willys.
The mix of SS and Wehrmacht vehicles in the picture is not a fault but just an observation.
