Sweet as, rust is very subtle , markings and weathering to go.
Are you going to dust it up mate ?

Tank now has its national and unit markings. It even got christened. The stencils from rctank.de really made it easier. And, I like painting them with the airbrush much better than a hand brush. Gotta be careful, though, to ensure that they’re really stuck to the tank with no bubbles.

I also blackened the exhaust pipes and the muzzle brake. Might have overdone it a bit, though.

Colors used:
Red: 1 ml of Flat Red (XF-7) with 2 drops of Red Brown (XF-64) to dirty it up a little. Black: 2 ml of Flat Black (XF-1) with 4 drops of Flat Earth (XF-52) to dirty it up a little.
White: 1 ml of Flat White (XF-2) with 2 drops of German Grey (XF-63) to dirty it up a little.

Note: all colors airbrushed with 1:1 mixture of paint:solvent.

Right now, I'm planning to weather with washing and dry brushing. Still debating whether or not to dust it. I like a cleaner look. But, dusting it would add something, too.

Very nice. Please dust it. I think that will make it look great. I am not a fan of those crusts of nur. But dusting seems to be that extra bit.

Thanks, guys. Holiday and business travels might slow me down a bit, but it's good to see the home stretch. I'm trying a different approach where I paint and wash it still in pieces. Seems easier to handle it that way when I try to move things for the right angle or view.

What do you think of the blackened exhaust and muzzle brake? Too much? About right? I'm thinking about trying to tone it down a little.

Regarding the exhaust blackening, there seems to be a fairly sharp demarcation line between the sooty bit and the rest. I think it would look a lot better if there were a gradually reduction in the blackening.

Thinking something similar...and it extends too far down the exhaust tube. Muzzle brake feels too blackened.

All good...first go at an airbrush. So, I'm still learning. Wonder if this thing has a fine tip that could be purchased...

Although while we all paint the Muzzle Brakes with Matte Black I am sure you know as do most of us that the German armed forces used smokeless Ammunition as did most, if not all allied armies in the last unpleasantness, so that the amount of Blackening around the Muzzle Brake was actually a great deal less than I use on my Tanks.
And it was your question about whether anyone had thoughts about how much or how little Matte Black we should use on Exhausts and Gun Barrels that provoked my response.
And I discovered the answer to that question a long time ago is as much or little as pleases YOU
I have stayed away from commenting on your build because I want to savour the end result before showering you with well deserved plaudits.

Excellent point! I had forgotten that. Confirms my hunch that I want to back off on the black.
