Re: Jagdpanther G2 base on Heng Long Hull
I agree about the weld lines. Looking at the real ones at the tank museum they are very neat, so in 1/16 they would not be very visible at all.

I added another layer to the mantlet. But basically the Heng Long mantlet Looks wrong. After the apoxie is hardened, I will try to file it into a better shape. The upper section still looks too high. But it also needs some concave curvature towards the barrel hole

Re: Jagdpanther G2 base on Heng Long Hull
I posted my thoughts on the mantlet on the other thread in "what to fix on your new tank". I came up wiht a few passes and now it Comes closer, though it is not finished yet. I still have to shave off about 2mm form the top to be able to get the correct slope. I already beefed up the area around the hole and on the sides and the bottom. Did a lot of regrinding and then put on another layer of Apoxie Sculpt on the sides. Will shave off the next layer when it is hardened, then shorten and reshape the top.

Re: Jagdpanther G2 base on Heng Long Hull
Gosh, I am most probably getting Close now. I will lengthen the mantlet by about 2mm more and fine tune the front side. Maybe I have to shorten the arms off the part going into the tank, to get it a bit closer to the hull. What do you think?

Re: Jagdpanther G2 base on Heng Long Hull
Santa was a bit early this year and left me the hull together with weels, tracks and fire extinguisher. I told him that I still expect a proper gift for Christmas anyways. It´s not my fault he messed it up.
Re: Jagdpanther G2 base on Heng Long Hull
Gosh, I didn´t make too much progress yet. Built in the motors and the bearings for the axle. Made the servo vertical traverse work and broke the mantlet Support in the Progress by constant refitting. Now I have to build this from scratch. In the meantime I started on a hull inlet and built a Box for the IBU2. Bent some brass covers for the optics, but had to wait for them to arrive, before making the final size and shape.
And as is the 5th of December, I was not forgotten

After buying, I finally added a few Details. Lifting hooks, supports for the opened hatch. Added the first optig with brass cover and I went for 1.5mm turned Aber bolts, which are the correct size for the Ventilator bolts. More Details to come soon.
