Turret rotation speed

Post by Nathan2253 »

Is there a way to change the movement of the turret so it's variable the the drive motors. I'ts a pain when aiming and needing a small movement and the turret moves allot.

Don't with the standard electronics. If you use hobby grade electronics like a Clark, ibu, El mod, etc that gives you proportional control

The easiest and cheapest; put a 17-22 ohm 1/4 watt resistor (it doesn't get hot) in series on the red wire to the transverse motor. This will slow the movement speed, you'll have finer movement but slower rotation from original.
Otherwise not much else as stated by tomhugill -the stock transmitter's left joy sticks operates like an on-off switch. Too keep your original main board and have proportional transverse & elevation: GEKO board, RC5HL/TG board and a hobby grade radio set.

Like this tip a lot, will try out out, so just cut the red positive wire and wire in this resistor? Which way do you wire the resistor, which end of a resistor is top towards motor and which bottom towards circuit board, can you post a picture showing direction please, do we buy the resistor from maplins? How much slower is this, half normal transverse speed etc? Thanks.
