I shall probably get up a few noses (Again) but I get a bad taste in my mouth over anything that appears to glamourize warfare.
Sorry but some memories don't fade away.
Shaun.
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

Understand, more to make available the archive footage. Some Ive seen, some not. Watch with the sound down & its less intrusive.
The various colourised sections clips show more detail than the usual B&W footage.

Herman a good find! I will check into the other videos

I agree it's a great resource for details and ideas for the modeler. Much better than the black and white images
Tanks alot....

Yeah, thats what I got out of it, a lot more definition than the B&W film, plus actual in-service dynamic rather than static imagery.

At the risk of admitting poor parenting, I shall share how I found it.

Looking for sounds to store & use for my tanks................went onto the theme of "Cross Of Iron" as Im sure you all know.
Played it for old time sake.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3LqD_CiLcxA

Looked up and there were my two little girls marching around the room :shifty: :shh:
My wife is a keen marcher from way back(an advantage with the skirts they wear ;) )and these two just seemed to take it in their stride pun intended !
Now, whenever they want, they just ask "Daddy, can we watch the German song" and the 2 1/2 year old sits up on my knee, watches the footage, and her sister steps around the room in time with the dual sets of music.
Comments on tanks and guns, plus the occasional reference to bridges, horses, and what not.

Just shows you the power of imagery and tunes.........................a bit like the actual indoctrination that took place back then for real.
Well hey, its more betterer than endless re-runs of the wiggles for me anyway :D

Shaun I know you were not being country specific, and this is not about your feelings, but what gets up my nose is how when people say the word propaganda, when it's German, it's evil, and when it's American, it's morale building. Check out 'Green Berets' for some pro-war propaganda.

But I am happy this forum manages to avoid the paranoia associated with SS unit insignia and markings that I've seen on some PC sim websites.
