Basic models v metal upgrades

Post by Luckylefty42 »

I've purchased my first new tank and it's the basic model...for future buys should I only be looking at the full metal upgrades or is just motor and tracks good enough

That all depends on what you're going to do with the tank. If your future plans are to get involved with a group and do some battling, you want the tank as light as it can be so it will move quickly around the battlefield. If your plans are to run it in the backyard by yourself then some extra weight won't hurt. I have my Taigen tanks pretty loaded down with metal options but my Tamiya's are all box stock except for gear box braces, battle systems (TBU) and in some cases Henn Tec idler systems.

i think it depends on what surface your running on if you buy a metal upgrade one it will save some money in the long run but i have both some with metal gear box and tracks some without and they both run well
