You order the part, pay the money, other people print them and send them to you.

One of the Members of our Forum "WOZ" makes (Prints ?) Parts in 1/16 including "Sherman parts" If you click on CERTIFIED VENDORS you will be able to access his site,
I have bought parts from him for my PZ4, It is quality work,

It actually depends. I bought Woz's 75mm for the M3 GMC, and he told me that he can't print that himself and it is actually Shapeway that prints it for him. I guess they charge more when they do the printing.

Also you might be better off sourcing a Tamiya set as the Shapeway stuff is all static.

Just to explain, if you order a part from the Shapeways site it is Shapeways that prints it. They use industrial printers that create the parts in a completely different way to a home based printer, and can print in a variety of materials from PLA to gold. The parts will be higher quality that anything printed on a home printer, though they aren't cheap by any means.

The parts available on Shapeways are designed by the various store owners, and if they have any sense they have been test printed on a home printer to check that the prototype is ok. The files that create the part are uploaded to Shapeways, the files are checked to make sure that they can be printed on their machines, and if they are ok, they can be added to the store owners shop.

Some parts are shown as immaculate 3D renders using the supplied files, these are not photo's of what they print. There is a difference, the printed items will not look quite as pristine, but will be very good, though it depends on the material selected.
