Here are some photos of the final results of the hull lengthening, drive sprocket re-positioning and idler rework.

Once assembled I found that the "bolt heads" on the inside sprocket half rub the exterior close out on the axle housing. I will have to reduce the height/thickness of the cover to clear the bolts. Bummer!

I loaded the Idler Wheel inner/outer piece in my Sherline Mill and removed the unwanted 6 narrow “spokes” and cleaned them up. I also created a styrene tire between the outer piece and the wheel to close up the gap between them. I am considering drilling/milling out the center hub so I can seal up the gap between them and still get to the mount screw. I will use the HL hub cover in it's place or make my own.

Your workmanship to remove the six extra spokes is fantastic! Certainly the best-looking effort I have seen to correct the appearance of it!

Thanks for the kind words guys. :)

I have set the Firefly aside for a change of pace and have picked back up on the M1A1. I will get back to it after I make some positive progress on the Abrams.
