On a technical level the Elmod Fusion boards are superior to all of the other boards. There are several reasons for this. Firstly the way that the sounds are produced, secondly the programming options available via the USB plugged into your pc, and thirdly the additional built in functions like simulated gear changes.

If I could afford to put Elmod boards in all of my tanks I would, I have two Elmods. The TK22 is a great budget end board, same size as an RX18 and a doddle to install, the TK24 has better sound than the TK22 plus two machine gun support etc, and the TK60 has some programming options etc. I have two TK22's and a TK24.

also if looking into getting the DKLM clutch style gearbox you need a card that supports it . Not sure if the elmod/asp2 is there yet ?

If you can live without the gear changes the ibu3 cover off these two (I'd argue the sounds at least on par) and in the uk I think is cheaper.

Rob does the el-mod let you assign functions to switches without channel mixing?

Yes, asp 2 supports the dklm gearboxes and has way more functions than ibu3 or elmod pro.

For example it has a lot of soundbanks, it can play more than 30 sounds as long as you want to (not coiunting of course the machineguns which has three sounds or the main barrel wih has 4 sounds, motor start, with 4 different starts and shutdown, with another 4 sounds, track and motor noises) and with CD quality sound, which is vastly superior to other boards

Also has a very good battle system compatible with ALL the boards. Yes, you can battle against a tamiya, taigen and heng long at the same time. Even it has a black box that registers who shots you and with what kind of ammo. (Explosive or piercing ammo)

And it has many more functions and as I said is the cheapest one.

I think Asp is not popular just because it comes from australia instead of europe.

Whilst the asp might be able to handle higher quality samples I would argue the speaker enclosures we use mean that doesn't make much difference. However the videos I've seen seem to show the asp sound engine is pretty basic compared to the ibu3, el mod, benedini and Clark tk60. It is fairly cheap but when you factor vat at 20% customs handling charge and shipping it's way more than an ibu 3 for a lower quality board.
