Re: King Tiger Porsche Turret
Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.
The TK24 is much the same as the TK22, eg same size so goes straight into an empty RX18 lower case, and that makes installation incredibly easy. Everything functions the same way with a couple of additions. It comes with twin machine gun support (two different sounds, depending on where you push the stick), and it has a neutral gear function. This means that until you flick the stick to put the tank in gear, you can rev the engine at standstill and the tank won't move. This is also a useful safety feature as it stops the tank flying off a workbench if you knock the throttle stick accidentally (I suspect that this was the real reason for adding the function). I think it also has additional servo support but I only use the recoil.
Sounds are improved over the TK22, less repetitive. I actually like the TK22 Tiger 1 sounds, Clark did well with that soundset, but I am not so keen on the US tanks. However they are relatively cheap and you can't hear an individual tank when 5 are running indoors so I can live with that.
All wiring is the same, including the 5 pin and 2 pin IR etc, so there is nothing new to learn.
I am now looking at getting a TK24 to go into the T90, the demo of the TK60 sounds good and Clark tells me that the TK60 and TK24 have identical sound systems.
I just need low ratio silky smooth black steel gearboxes for this one, as the HL metal ones, although greased and running quiet at low speeds, are noticeable when the throttle is opened.

Glad you posted that.
If I were to buy an upgrade I wanted a sound module which had a stationary revving function.
Thank you
