Hi Everyone,
I'm new to RC stuff and model tanks.
I've just retired from work as a service engineer working on large reprographic plotters.
As my job entailed playing with electronics, mechanical and electrical systems I though the world of RC tanks will do for me.
After doing some homework on the web and forums such as this I decided to have a crack at building a larger scale model so I've gone for the Torro Pro model Tiger 1 in 1/16 scale. I thought the larger scale would suit my fat fingers better!
The electronics for RC today are very much different to a boat I built way back when the Transmitters were coal fired.
Anyway, I made my choice of a Futaba 8J radio system with a IBU3 tank controller. I'm sure I'll be calling on some of you to help me sort it all out!
I look forward to chatting with some of you and please be kind to a newbie modeller.

Re: Hello!
Welcome to the forum, and you have made excellent choices with both the tank and electronics, the tank will be reliable and the 'lectrics will serve you well.

Hi and welcome to the forum
Re: Hello!
Welcome, I echo what Rob has said above, for a first tank and electronics upgrade, it doesn't come much better.
Just enjoy, I almost forgot, make sure you have a good quality speaker to listen to the amazing sounds from your IBU3.
