Mato Sherman T-49 spare track pieces

Post by MichaelC »

Hi all,

I recently purchased a set of Mato metal T49 tracks and it actually came in 4 different piece, and the connectors are really brittle and almost all of them has broken in 2. I have to use the spare track pieces just to connect the 4 pieces together and of course now I am short on fitting them onto the chassis. Does anyone has any spares lying around that I can buy off you ? They are so brittle that I am worry even another spare pack that it ships with won't be able to make up the missing links I needed.

Thanks !

MichaelC.

Michael, good morning,
This is concerning news about MATOs metal tracks. Jackalope experienced the same issue with the tracks on his M36B. I'm not sure if this is related only to those track types or just a bad run up of parts at one of their factories. Have you considered a new set altogether? If not, I may have some spares when that M36B gets here this week.
regards,
Painless

Painless, thanks. I think you might be okay since the M36 is shipped with the tracks installed. My big problem is it came in 4 different pieces, so I need to connect to of them just to make 1 track, and then have to find out how many links I need to fit it onto the chassis. Let me know how it works out when it shows up. You might need it yourself. The brittle piece is the side connectors, and I have a feeling that the rods are just too big for them. I might just try drilling them out a little more when I get enough pieces to start again.

I really struggled getting my end pieces on my tracks too. How many end connectors do you need?

tom, did you drill them out a little but not too much that they won't stay on ? Dom is going to fix me up with some spares and hopefully they will be enough. If you have some I don't mind getting some but only if you have spares yourself. The ones on the ends completely chipped on the trip over, and I think I broke at least 2 myself trying to put the tracks back together.

Not tried drilling I was a little worried about making it too loose. I'll see how many I've got left. I think I lost some of the other bits but not the end pieces!
