Smoke Oil Scents

RCTE often gets asked what scents are available and why don’t we stock it.

Well this is your chance to have an input. Here is a poll of the scents available.

www.rctankelectronics.com/survey.html

Based on your choices we could add to our current selection.

I've tried several different "scents" and they all smell pretty much the same to me.
When FDR coined the phrase "The Arsenal of Democracy", he was talking about Detroit. Proud to live in the 2nd most violent city in America!!

Thanks for your input guys.

My preference is actually the food and drink scents over the more authentic scents but by running a poll I get a feel of users preferences.

So far the poll results are

Classics - Diesel Power @ 50%
Classics - NADA (99% Scent Free) @ 20%
Classics - Wood Stove @ 10%
Christmas - Hot Chocolate @ 10%
Environment - Lumber Mill @ 10%

Is there a petrol/gasoline option ?
All the German tanks in WW 2 ran on petrol.

No unfortunately not. Megasteam who make the scents make them for model train smoke units, so most of the realistic scents are based around them. Agree a petrol scent would suit a lot of WW2 tanks, but I’ve no idea how to create it. Maybe added a few drops of thin mineral oil to the mix would give the essence of burnt oil. Although I’m not recommending you add flammable liquid to a smoke unit in your tank!

It doesn't help that the only Tanks with diesel engines that are readily available are Soviet era and what is more frustrating is that a number of British Tanks were diesel powered BUT no one makes them :lolno:

Yes I know of them.
I use a 50/50 mix of Citronella and BBQ lighter fluid on all my smoking locos
