Re: 1/6 challenger Mark 1 Tanks
I have at this point no experience with 1/6 size tanks but it looks great! Also curious if anybody knows how Mark 1 tanks
compare with FOA (Field of Armor) tanks? They (FOA) also look very durable and well made..based on their sales videos etc.

I fear that "Richards" (Silversurfer) thread on the recent news from Heng Long that they may be entering amongst other scales 1/6 Tanks could really put the cat among the pigeons,
They would easily undercut anyone else on price,
Indeed if things continue along this line of marketing I can see the day when we are driving full size Heng Long replicas of Tiger 1s to the shops on Saturday morning to get the Pastrami and chips,
At least you wouldn't have a problem finding a parking spot,
just make your own
Shaun.

I think I am about to upset someone

In regards to 1/6th.. FOA/MARK I/Armortech I have heard of. Are they essentially similar in performance or is there one that stands out more overall?

Hi tao, I think that Armourteck are the top makers for 1/6 as they are all metal and I think the 1/6 Sherman I was shown on Sunday weighs in at 200+ KGS so that is a heavy old lump. I know Mark-1-Tanks are good and handy for me as they are based down my way (well 2 hr drive) so I can nip down for a day if required, and they produce the Challenger and that is the tank I just had to get. I really like challengers. Field of Armour also look awesome so I think its down to choice, budget and also maybe maintenance. I recently had a 1/8 Abrams and that really set the bug for larger scale tanks for me. Only trouble is moving the buggers around.

Thanks for the answer! They do all look pretty solid to me in terms of drive trains and components. The MARK I does offer a large range of models. Being in the USA I think FOA would be my best choice to start with.

Hi Guys, well I picked up the Challenger today and luv it. The guy also threw in a very nice and rather cool looking crew figure. What a top guy and so very pleased to have acquired this tank and bits from him. Just goes to show that fellow enthusiasts are soooo helpful and just a great bunch
